Dr. Rafael Rivas-Vazquez is a neuropsychologist specializing in the assessment of cognitive and behavioral dysfunction. He is board certified in clinical psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Rivas-Vazquez has published multiple articles in medical and psychological journals, and has lectured nationally and internationally. Since 1995, Dr. Rivas-Vazquez has been active in clinical research involving a wide range of neurologic and psychiatric disorders. He has been an investigator in over 160 clinical trials geared at evaluating the benefits of new therapeutic interventions for illnesses such as Alzheimer’s disease, depression, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
After graduating from Georgetown University, Dr. Rivas-Vazquez obtained his doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University. He completed his clinical training at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital from 1987 to 1990, and received his neuropsychology training at the University of Miami from 1992 to 1994. In 2001, he obtained a post-doctoral Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Rivas-Vazquez is currently adjunct faculty at the University of Miami.
